LYNN BIERLEIN, 72

Loving Husband and Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Friend, and Co-worker.

Lynn Thomas Bierlein passed away March 18th, 2024: age 72, he was born December 30, 1951, to LeRoy and Jane (Kabat) Bierlein who predeceased him.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Margaret Bierlein (DeYoung), daughter Dawn (Tom) Maness and son Daniel (Haley Munoz) Bierlein. Grandchildren Abigail and Luke Bierlein.  His sisters Judy (Doug) Ketchum, Peggy (Gene) Reinhardt and brother John (Robyn) Bierlein. 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Valerie and nephews Travis Bierlein and Dion Reinhardt. 

Proud Graduate of Frankenmuth High School Class of 1970- Member of back-to-back State Football championships.

His banking career started at Frankenmuth Bank & Trust and after 44 years in banking he retired from Markle Bank in Markle, IN.   As a young man, Lynn learned the automated side of banking. His career involved shaping the implementation of the evolution of tele-banking, ATMs, and On-line banking.

Baptized and confirmed at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth, MI.  He was a parishioner at 5 churches over his adult life. Serving as Chairman of the Congregation at Carmel Lutheran Church in Indiana.  He was currently a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Wake Forest NC. 

Lynn’s life of volunteerism included the Jaycees, SonRise Camp for Adults with Disabilities, Habitat for Humanity, Big Brother, and Men of Hope.  His kindness and willingness to be of help to his family, friends, and organizations of which he was a member will long be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

He became a beekeeper in 2002 and was actively involved with the Indiana Beekeepers Association. Presented beekeeping educational programs and especially loved working the Bee Booth at the Indiana State Fair.

Memorial to be held April 13, 2024, at Hope Lutheran Church Wake Forest, NC. Visitation at 1pm followed by Memorial service at 2pm.

Michigan Memorial service is planned for July 13, 2024, at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church Frankenmuth MI. Visitation at 10am followed by Memorial service at 12 pm.
